Because the characteristics of Process and Maps are quite different, these two types of articles need to be clearly explained. For the Process type, the focus of the Process lesson is different from the number one, because everything you need to say is already “exposed” on the diagram. What we need to do is assemble those words into complete sentences, and connect the following sentences to make sense.

As the name suggests, the join words in Process will usually be words about order, because you will describe the steps or stages of creating something. You can go by a fairly safe framework like this:
- paraphrase at the beginning of the article
- general comment
- first, … => second, … => Next, … =>
This is a good place to start, and if you haven’t yet mastered this layout, you’ll need to focus on writing complete simple sentences and correct verb conjugation before making the above layout more complicated.
a. Paraphrase at the beginning of the article
Like many other Task 1 exercises, your opening paragraph is always a paraphrase of the given topic. So you also have to paraphrase the same 2 parts as the word chart question diagram and the verb show.
Unlike the chart, in Process, there is only 1 word to replace diagram was picture. So don’t worry too much about this word. There are words left show can be replaced with one of the following words: demonstrate/ demonstrate/ represent/ exhibit.

One thing that you need to understand about the Process lesson is that you no need to understand this diagram I can only write articles, although the more I understand, the better. The Process lesson simply wants to challenge you: I give you these nouns and verbs, give me a meaningful passage.

This is the sentence that we need to paraphrase. As mentioned above, you can paraphrase diagram and show Fort picture and show already. In the rest, usually the Process topic is divided into 2 types: production out something, or cycle of something, and it usually gives these words as nouns (production of beer). Remember, grammatically, after the word with, we have to use a noun or a V-ing verb, so don’t rush to grab the verb in the picture to enter J.
And this is where we write the body of the article. With that said you can go with the safe layout: First, … Second, … Next, … Finally, … The part you need to do now is turn the nouns in the picture into sentences. Look at the picture here and identify the nouns and verbs. Whenever to produce something, we also have a starting material. In this post, we have malted barley. So, what do we do with this material?
malted barley => milling => mashing => lautering => spent grain animal feed.
As you can see, the V-ing verbs here are actions to do with the raw material malted barley this. So, when you write a sentence, you have to change it into the passive voice.
Not: malted barley is milling and mashing and lautering. Which is: malted barley is milled, mashed and lautered.
Looking in the graph, we see the appearance of noun more, for example water or spelled grain nice animal feed. These nouns fall into one of two groups: The product is created or product be added. Can see, water is what is added, while spelled grain and animal feed is what is created. We can write:

The above paragraph is perfectly OK to use. To make it better, you add objects or machines that perform these actions. We can see the action mill and lauter all made in one barrel/oven. If you are not sure, write a generic word like containers.

Let’s look at the last two sentences. They are two rather short and terse sentences – something we always avoid in Writing. If there are sentences like this, you can put them together. A pretty good point of Process is the sequence of it, so you can connect it beautifully with two simple words like before or after.

This before and after connection should be used a lot in the lesson, as it is a clever way to turn a long sentence into a short one, or to mention an idea that you don’t have the vocabulary to say. For example, look at the cooling phase. Chances are you don’t know what a cooling machine is. Me too. If we express it in the above way (… before cooling), we will both mention this stage and cleverly cover up the words we don’t know.
With the above rules, you can easily write the rest of the article as follows:

There is one more point you need to keep in mind about this article, and that is to avoid abusing the “safe” structure mentioned at the beginning. Instead of machines it’s “1”st,… 2nd, … finally, …”, sequences are marked with the end of the previous step. This style of writing makes it easier for the reader to follow the content and helps the writer to use a variety of sentence structures.
